Pretty basic lyrics. I woke up from this dream where I was with the most perfect beautiful girl, and was bummed about it being a dream.
Also the line "even my gay friends, all had girlfriends too" is some sort of irony I found in life that a lot of my good friends who later came out, all had girlfriends while still in the closet. I think it's funny, and somewhat sad, that I still can't seem to pull off "boyfriend" material as well as the gay dudes I know.
